Come & Stay & Play

Deer Trail Lodge is a spacious four bedroom, two and a half bath, 2,039 sq. ft. vacation rental home located at 124 Greenbriar Road, in the North Carolina mountain town of Beech Mountain, nestled in the beautiful Pisgah National Forest.  With the home's elevation at 4,330 feet, summer temperatures are rarely above 75 degrees Fahrenheit.  Come and stay in the summer to escape the heat, or come and play in the winter for some of the best skiing on the East coast.   At an elevation at 5,505 feet above sea level at the summit, the Beech Mountain Resort offers dramatic views down the slope.  In the summer the resort offers mountain biking from the ski summit as well, with bikes lifted via chair lift, for a dramatic mountain bike ride down the mountain for the daring.

As a town, Beech Mountain has the highest elevation of any town east of the  Mississippi River. Deer Trail Lodge was completed in 2011 and recently remodeled in 2021 under new ownership.  The name of the home is a reminder of the many deer that are often seen in and around the property.  The property is frequently visited by deer, and occasionally a bear, but keep a special eye out for Jackie, our mascot!

Deer Trail Lodge has an outdoor entertaining area at the back of the house with fire pit, Adirondack chairs, and lovely views of wooded areas flanked by two mountain creeks.  The front of the house boasts more than 200 square feet of covered deck space for relaxing.  Along the left side of the house guests can enjoy the trickling creek, with creekside seating on one of the two benches. Architectural features of the home include log and poplar siding. Exterior lighting is plentiful to ensure that guests never arrive home to a dark driveway or have to traverse the deck steps in the dark. Inside guests will enjoy two gas fireplaces, stainless steel appliances, a gas Frigidaire range, dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator.  The large kitchen easily seats eight between the dining table and the large island.  The home has four nicely furnished large bedrooms and two and a half baths, with each bedroom having a large closet.  Cell service has been excellent for most guests at the home, and Wi-Fi internet and VOIP phone service is provided by Spectrum. Television is currently available through Roku for streaming guest's own programming subscriptions including family-friendly Spectrum programming.

The home has central heat and air, so regardless of the temperature, guest's comfort is assured. Crafted with quality materials and meticulously maintained by the new owners, the home is both comfortable and luxurious, for year round enjoyment.

The owners have supplied numerous board games, located in the welcome cabinet in the living room, classic family and children's VCR tapes for use on the VCR only kids TV, and Roku streaming and a DVD player for the other TV's, perfect for those evenings with family, or when passing time indoors on a cold snow day.  Located in the loft is a Foosball table for our guest's enjoyment.  The home is a destination in and of itself, with two bubbling creeks to enjoy, endless relaxation on the two decks, and fun times around the fire pit for everyone.

The home is two miles from Beech Mountain Resort, a seven minute drive in normal weather conditions.  Just minutes  from the house, are miles of breath-taking hiking trails as well as trout fishing at Lake Coffey.  And down the mountain is the thrilling Alpine Coaster, Banner Elk's newest attraction. Whether it's summer adventure or winter thrills, Beech Mountain has something for everyone!  And don't forget Tweetsie Railroad, the iconic mountain amusement park that is just a short drive toward Blowing Rock. Boone adventures lie about a 45 minute drive from Deer Trail Lodge.
